Why did you decide to run for the Board?
While searching for a home in Arizona, we were impressed with the scenery and amenities here in Vistancia. Soon after moving here, my initial involvement was to serve on the Neighborhood Advisory Committee (NAC). My involvement in the NAC resulted in my heightened understanding of how Community Associations work. To enhance my understanding, I attended monthly classes and presentations outlining all aspects of community management and the expectations of Board Members. We are proud to call Vistancia our home and I am committed to maintaining and increasing the quality of life in our excellent community.
What do you bring to the table as a Board member?
On a daily basis, I must follow the policies and procedures of my clients while fostering positive relationships with our vendors. I also look for opportunities for process improvements.
How will you be able to put aside personal biases and desires to make decisions for the betterment of the entire community?
I have done so since I first served on a Vistancia committee.
What is the most important issue facing the community in the next two years?
Vistancia has a new landscape partner to work with. We must have a successful transition.
What can the Association do to help maintain or improve current property values?
The Association can uphold the CC&Rs.
What are the three most important ways we can increase the sense of community in Vistancia?
Encourage volunteerism.
Continue to offer activities that appeal to residents.
Ensure residents’ concerns are given due process and consideration.
How do you feel about the collaborative-partnership approach between the Board, community members and the management team? What would you do to support and/or improve these relationships moving forward?
I feel it is a unique advantage for Vistancia with so much collaborative involvement. Residents are inspired to get involved.
